CFHEC(CCCC First Highway Engineering Company), which grew out of the first division of CPLA (China People of Liberation Army), has been set up at 1963. The main office is located at Peking.

CFHEC initially was a road construction team, focused on the domestic strategic highway and overseas economic aid project.Nowadays, CFHEC is the strongest subsidiary of China Communications Construction Company (CCCC). As a large-scale state-owned firm that has created a number of "first" in the history of domestic highway bridge construction, undertaking chiefly in the construction of infrastructures, CFHEC has developed into a national special-class general contractor in the construction of major highway works and Grade A general contracting enterprise of housing construction, focusing on construction of high-class highways and large bridges at home and abroad, integrating construction, design, consulting, construction, operation, supervision, research, testing, logistics and machinery manufacturing. Additionally, it has established provincial and ministerial-level technology centers. With total amount of annually newly contracting signed and annually total amount of completing turn over both exceeding CNY 55 billion, CFHEC is a well-known brand enterprise with strong comprehensive capabilities, specialized in the businesses involving roads, bridges, tunnels, railways, municipal facilities, housing construction, ports, waterways, airports, pipelines, traffic engineering, steel structure etc. CFHEC has created 260 national, provincial and ministerial-level construction methods, 300 national patents, and recognized as a national "high-tech enterprise ".

CFHEC possesses 36 Wholly-owned subsidiaries，3 participating companies, 17 branches companies, 6 domestic regional headquarters, 5 overseas institutes.

CFHEC has constructed various highways totaling 18,000 km in length, with expressways accounting for 10% of the total length of all the completed expressways in China. Additionally, over 6,000 bridges in various types, over 1,000 km tunnels, over 2,000 km municipal works, over 1,000 km railways and over 100 km rail transport have been constructed by CFHEC.
